eZ Systems recently sat down with Shigmetaka Yamanaka of Hearst Japan and asked about his experience using eZ Publish and eZ Live Viewer.

Hearst Japan, part of the Hearst International magazine empire, publishes over 300 magazines worldwide. One of their most popular titles is Elle Magazine. We recently sat down and talked with Shigetaka Yamanaka, the Digital Department Manager at Hearst Japan, about his experience using eZ Publish and eZ Live Viewer.

Hearst Japan is also using eZ Publish to power their online websites, utilizing a site factory approach. eZ System's relationship with Hearst began several years ago when Elle France first implemented the eZ Platform on their website. Since then the implementation of the eZ Publish Platform has been extended to numerous Hearst websites in countries across the globe, including Japan. This is an excellent example of how to efficiently roll out new online sites based on the same eZ Publish Platform.

In addition to using eZ Publish for their publishing needs, Elle Online’s editorial team is using eZ Live Viewer to monitor data and view the websites' live online media consumption. This enables them to optimize their content based on the website’s visitor behavior. Providing the editorial and marketing teams with insights as to how their readers interact with the website, eZ Live Viewer has proven to be an indispensable tool for Elle.
