The eZ Publish installer is the fastest way to setup and execute eZ Publish locally on your computer. It is the perfect way to get started with eZ Publish and have a standard eZ Publish package up and running for test, evaluation or even development purposes. It is not optimized and should not be used as a basis for production environments (for production purposes please download ezpublish standalone and install it on a production-ready and optimized environment).
The eZ Publish Installer skip the usual eZ Publish installation and do not use the Installation wizard that is usually used.The eZ Publish, comes with a ready to run installation, and is available in two version:
- eZ Flow evaluation, based on the eZ Flow extension, including demo data.
- Standard eZ Publish evaluation, based on the standard eZ Publish installation, including demo data.
The eZ Publish installer sets up the complete stack required by eZ Publish to run on your computer, which includes eZ Publish, the Apache web server, PHP for Apache (which is the language used by eZ Publish), the MySQL database and additional components.
The eZ Publish installer sets up a completely autonomous stack that should not interfere with your existing system and that is easy to uninstall.

Installation
Download the eZ Publish installer for your operating system from this page to your local computer.
- For the Windows operating system, this will be a file named ezpublish-x.y.z-windows-installer.exe (x.y.z being the version of eZ Publish that will be installed)
- For the Mac OS X operating system, this will be a file named ezpublish-x.y.z-osx-installer.app.zip (x.y.z being the version of eZ Publish that will be installed)
Run the installer.
- For the Windows version, double-click on the installer ezpublish-x.y.z-windows-installer.exe file
- For the Mac OS X version, double-click on the ezpublish-x.y.z-osx-installer application file (.app file) that should have been extracted automatically once downloaded (if not, unzip the file first)
Follow the step of the installer up to the end of the installation.
If installation fails, please participate in the installer support forums.
Use
Download the eZ Publish installer for your operating system from this page to your local computer.
- The link for the website installed and the administration interface can be found in the application folder (eZ Publish x.y.z and eZ Publish x.y.z admin interface icons), simply click on those to launch them in a browser.
- On Windows, the web server and the database server are installed as Windows services. To use eZ Publish, both services must be started. They are started automatically but might have been stopped for other reasons. You can start/stop them by going to the "eZ Publish Services" folder in your application main folder (it should be located by default in the C:\Program Files\eZ Publish folder)
- On Mac OS X operating system, launch the control panel located in the application folder for that purpose.
Uninstall
- Windows: Go to the application folder (it should be located by default in the C:\Program Files\eZ Publish folder) and double-click on the "uninstall ezpublish-x.y.z" icon.
- Mac: Go to the application folder (it should be located by default in the /applications folder and should be called by default ezpublish-x.y.z) and double-click on the uninstall icon.
