The eZ Publish full install contains all the required sub packages to install the full eZ Publish application. It includes as well the eZ Flow extension. The application is installed with or without demonstration content, the option being suggested at the end of the installation process.
* eZ components libraries for PHP are required to run eZ Publish. eZ Components libraries might already be installed on your platform, in this case you can consider downloading a package excluding eZ Components. Visit eZ Components website for more information.

The eZ Publish lightweight package is for user having already a good knowlege of eZ Publish, who are not willing to install all extensions available with eZ Publish. This package includes only the very mandatory extensions to have eZ Publish running but will not include more advanced features.
If you are not an advanced user, you might not find the expected features of ez Publish in this release. You might consider the full installation package.

eZ Publish 4.2 is available with a wide range of certified extensions from eZ Systems, thanks as well to some trusty community contributors. Some of them are bundle with the distribution, preactivated and directly usable, other are bundled but not activated as manual setup might needs to be done, others are only available as standalone extensions.

The eZ Publish installer is the fastest way to setup and execute eZ Publish locally on your computer. It is the perfect way to get started with eZ Publish and have a standard eZ Publish package up and running for test, evaluation or even development purposes. It is not optimized and should not be used as a basis for production environments (for production purposes please download ezpublish standalone and install it on a production-ready and optimized environment).
