The eZ Awards is a yearly event hosted by eZ Systems as part of the eZ Conference. During the annual eZ Conference every June, special recognition is given to key people within the eZ ecosystem and the worldwide Open Source community.
Winners at the eZ Awards have contributed to Open Source and the eZ ecosystem in an exceptional way. Giving to the eZ ecosystem consists not only of code, bug fixes and expertise in technical matters. It also includes being actively engaged in daily business, promoting Open Source projects, eZ products and services, giving all kinds of feedback and buying into important core values.
With the eZ Awards, eZ emphasizes the importance of every contribution, be it small or great. As such, the eZ Awards is a way to reward those who have taken extra effort and who have added value to the overall eZ ecosystem, proving that business enterprises and community members are serious about applying the full power of eZ products and related expertise.
As a special addition to the evening, this year's eZ Awards will be preceded by a formal cocktail reception. Attendees at the conference and members of all communities are invited to join the celebration. Afterwards, there will a big party at Klosterøya, the new location for IT companies in Grenland. Among the prominent prize presenters this year is the Norwegian IT Minister, Heidi Grande Røys. The evening's host is Frithjof Wilborn, the Norwegian celebrity known best for hosting "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire".
It gives us great pleasure to announce the following official nominees for the eZ Awards 2007:
