Make-A-Wish Foundation Mobile
Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, the nation’s largest wish-granting organization, needed a mobile version of its existing website that was already on an eZ Publish platform.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation felt a mobile presence would help support their efforts to bring hope, strength and joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions.
The goal was to quickly establish an attractive, effective mobile presence that could be updated on a real-time basis and incorporate video and social media familiar to visitors to the website.
The Foundation chose eZ Publish for their main website because of its ease of publishing frequent updates that seamlessly integrate text, images and video. The platform's versatility in cross-channel publishing made adding a mobile site a realistic and affordable goal for the non-profit. They chose Granite Horizon for its reliability in making cross-channel publishing easy to implement.
Working with a new design provided by The Make-A-Wish Foundation, Granite Horizon implemented a site that displayed much of the same data as on the Web, but also featured new fields added for a mobile version of some of them. Auto detection sends mobile users to mobile site (a simplified version of main site's site map), but once there, it allows them to view the full site again if they prefer.
The mobile site's main navigation is collapsed by default, opening smoothly on click to show two levels of navigation. The Make-A-Wish Foundation's third-party donation system was styled identically to the main site, making spontaneous contributions “on the go” easy.
